From Universal Orlando Resort - After an eight-month hiatus caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, Universal Orlando Resort announced today that construction work will resume for their fourth theme park, Epic Universe. The company stated that construction will resume immediately, but it will take a few months before they reach full-speed construction.
Located on a 750-acre site, Epic Universe will nearly double Universal's total available acreage in Central Florida and is expected to employee approximately 14,000 permanent jobs when the park opens.
As of now, the new park is expected to open in early 2025, nearly two years later than projected before the temporary stall in construction that was caused by the pandemic.
